ENVIRONMENT & PURPOSE

The Production Supervisor oversees the shop and field service activities for Strategic Business Unit Compression Technology. Recip and Field Services are operating in a mature market with static sales numbers and decreasing profitability through inefficient operational processes. The Production Supervisor is responsible for building a skilled and knowledgeable team to pioneer the continuous improvement process to increase efficiency and quality.

In 2 years from now, the North America service area is expected to regain market share, enabled by a proactive, skilled and knowledgeable service & repair organization. As the driver for the customer interface, service and repair will challenge the business by providing innovative service through the maintenance and repair of our products, while ensuring that safety, quality and performance are to the highest standards. 

CHANGES IN THE NEXT 3 YEARS

To achieve the desired future state, the US expansion and increase market share initiative will require additional resources to support operational excellence and training. The Production Supervisor will be essential in educating, training and developing both the Shop and Field Service team on the safety and quality standards, proper service, repair and installation practices, and operational excellence. As the driver for operational excellence you, the Production Supervisor will build a knowledgeable and skilled team whom will provide prompt and efficient service, repair and maintenance to current and new  Service customers.

A successful change will be measured against man power productivity, hiring and maintaining competent shop and field service employees, on-time performance as well as a quality rating which meets future market expectations, product costs substantially below market average, purchasing savings, and inventory turns. The Production Supervisor will have the opportunity to be a partner to the business in initiating a successful turnaround in a very challenging market environment, by working independently as well as on a team with a high interaction with customers.
A next career step could be advancement to Branch Manager.

Goals

Expand the field service team and develop six competent teams of four consisting of 1 FSA, 1 Lead Technician, 1 Technician and 1 Mechanic. Competency is measured by evaluation, qualification and competency exams

Lead by example. Focus on professionalism and detailed training of each process within shop and field service repair. Work with the Outside Sales team in an effort to gain incremental sales

Quality work and dependability with a targeted 0 accident rate.

Achieve 2% or less cost of poor quality as well as a 97% On Time Delivery

Fully trained and equipped Field Service Advisors, Technicians, and Mechanics on his team. Implement measures to assure efficiency. Implement process improvement team and lead the efforts to become a work class field service team

Incremental Revenue Growth: 2017 – 10%, 2018 – 20%

Essential Responsibilities

Technical:
Wide Range of Knowledge of numerous types of Reciprocating Compressors and Auxiliary Systems preferred or similar industrial knowledge
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet

Ability to work with basic office equipment & phone systems
Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, DOT regulations & Oil & Gas Industry SOPs.

Technical or functional Knowledge:

High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 10 years experience in the reciprocating or similar repair/manufacturing industry
Bachelor Degree a plus                                                                                                                                     Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing Experience

5 years working around industrial lathes, mills and other metal working equipment
Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role in the industry

 

Experience and essential requirements:
